Housing & Getting Around
Housing
Students have a range of housing options throughout both the Queen Charlotte and Skidegate communities. Most accommodation is furnished and has kitchen facilities. The options range from hotel-style to boarding with a family. A detailed list of accommodation options will be provided to students accepted into the Haida Gwaii Semesters.
Getting Around
Transportation to all classes and other academic activities is provided by HGHES. Students are responsible for making arrangements for all of the extracurricular adventures they are sure to embark on. Most amenities are within walking or cycling distance of residences, so getting around town on a daily basis is easy. Biking is a great way to get around the island, and the ride into class at the Haida Heritage Centre is a short and sweet 20-minute ride along the seashore. If you have a bike or vehicle, we highly recommend bringing it with you. HGHES provides access to a limited number of bicycles for students.
“Outstanding opportunity for access to the Haida Nation's young leaders and future generation of expertise.”
